Euromec Achieves Clean Streets in Scottish Borders
Boasting around eighteen hundred square miles, the Scottish Borders is a mixture of valleys, moorland, rocky coastline and picturesque fishing villages. Maintaining the unspoilt landscape of towns including Melrose, Duns and Newtown St. Boswells is the job of the Scottish Borders Council, which has invested in four Powerflex 2100 grounds maintenance machines from Euromec.
The Powerflex is a common chassis with a range of attachments for a number of cleaning and clearing tasks. Two of the four machines supplied to the council are fitted with a sweeping system, which is designed to clear leaves and debris. They also boast gritter and snowblade attachments, for removing snow and ice. The Powerflex changes from one attachment to another in under four minutes.
Three machines have replaced existing compact tractors and are used by the council’s roads department for winter maintenance tasks. The fourth is helping the cleansing department clean areas in town centres that are difficult to access.
"We chose the Euromec and the Powerflex machine for its versatility, quality and durability", commented John Martin, Fleet Manager at the Council. "They provided an excellent service, both in support and demonstrations, and the machines are proving to be a worthwhile investment."
